Privacy Policy

SkiMo Stats is operated by Roland Hric, who is the data controller for the personal data described here.

For anything in this policy, including any request about your data, contact info@skimostats.com. We'll also give you a postal address on request.

You can read race results, rankings, athlete profiles and statistics without an account or giving us anything.

Our servers keep standard request logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) to keep the site running and secure. We also record page-view counts on athlete profiles to show what's popular.

Optional analytics cookies are off until you accept them. See the cookie policy, which lists every cookie by name and lets you change your choice at any time.

We store your first name, last name, email address and a hashed password. Your password is never stored in a readable form.

Depending on what you use, we may also hold:

• Strava connection — if you sign in with Strava, we store your Strava ID and an access token so we can confirm your identity. You can disconnect it from your profile.
• Athlete profile claim and verification — if you claim an athlete profile, we ask for an identity document (passport, ID card or similar) to check the claim is genuine. See the section on identity documents below.
• Community messages — posts you make in public channels, and private messages you send other members. Private messages are encrypted in our database.
• Notifications — athletes you follow, and if you enable browser notifications, a push subscription so we can deliver them.
• Fantasy entries, teammate searches and organiser requests — whatever you submit through those features.
• Weekly digest — if enabled, we email you a summary. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

If you claim an athlete profile we ask for an identity document. We treat these carefully:

• They are stored in a private area of our server that is not reachable from the web — they are never served publicly and never linked from any page.
• They are used only to confirm you are the athlete you say you are.
• They are deleted when the verification request is cancelled, and when the request is resolved.

If you would rather not upload a document, contact us and we'll look at other ways to confirm your claim.

• To provide the service you asked for — your account, community features, notifications you switched on, verifying a profile claim.
• Your consent — analytics and advertising cookies, and the weekly digest. You can withdraw either at any time.
• Our legitimate interest — keeping the site running, secure and free from abuse, and understanding in aggregate which pages are used.

Race results, names, nationalities and finishing times of athletes are published as sports results. This is public competition data, generally sourced from organisers and federations.

We don't sell your data. These third parties are involved in running the site:

• Google (Tag Manager, Analytics, and advertising services) — only after you accept optional cookies.
• Strava — only if you choose to connect your account.
• Patreon — if you support us financially. Payment details are handled by Patreon, not by us.
• Our hosting provider — stores the site and its database.
• Content delivery and map services (CARTO map tiles, flag images, weather data, accommodation search) — these receive your IP address when your browser loads content from them, which is how the web works. They aren't told who you are.

Some of these operate outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, transfers rely on the safeguards those providers put in place, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

• Account data — while your account exists. Ask us to delete it and we will.
• Identity documents — deleted once a verification request is resolved or cancelled.
• Messages — kept while your account exists, so conversations stay readable for the people in them.
• Cookie choice — one year, then we ask again.
• Published race results — kept indefinitely. They are a historical record of the sport.

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or object to it. You can also withdraw consent at any time — for cookies that's on the cookie policy page, and for the weekly digest it's the unsubscribe link in the email.

There is no self-service delete button yet. Email info@skimostats.com and we will handle it by hand, normally within one month.

If you think we've handled your data badly, you can complain to our supervisory authority, the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic (Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov Slovenskej republiky, Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava, dataprotection.gov.sk). You can also complain to the authority in the EU or EEA country where you live or work.

Accounts are not intended for children under 16. Junior and youth race results are published as sports results from official competitions, in the same way a federation or newspaper publishes them. If you are a parent or guardian and want us to look at a specific case, contact us.

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. Substantial changes affecting your rights will be announced on the site.
